Hubbub no longer eligible for B Corp status

Environmental charity Hubbub’s commercial subsidiary is no longer eligible for B Corp status after folding it into the main charity.

Robinson announced the “good news” on LinkedIn stating Hubbub Enterprises “no longer qualifies” due to reasons such as not having its own website, distinct to the main charity and not having a separate leadership team.

Hubbub Enterprise was first certified in 2020 but “a lot has changed” since it merged into the main charity for everyday activities.

While the news was a “shock at first”, Robison said B Lab “reached the right conclusion”.

“It gives me even more faith in the process and the movement,” Robinson wrote.

“B Corp has shown that its recertification process is doing its job: paying close attention and really understanding its members.”

“We’ll miss being part of the #bcorp community,” Robinson added.

“But we’ll be cheering on from the sidelines. And if your organisation is thinking about joining, I’d tell you to go for it, every time,” he concluded.
