The Perfume Shop said it is looking to “combat larger issues” faced by the planet as it outlines a raft of its most recent sustainability measures.
The specialist fragrance retailer, with over 211 shops nationwide, highlighted its top line green achievements, including running what it describes as “the UK’s biggest perfume bottle recycling service”.
It has also committed to only using recycled materials in new store refits, is focusing on reducing waste and its carbon footprint and recently introduced its first multi-brand fragrance refill station.
The Perfume Shop managing director Gill Smith said: “We’re proud of the amazing work we’ve already achieved as a business with our partnerships and how we can look to combat larger issues our planet is facing.
“In 2023, we saw great changes here and want to build upon this as we continue into 2024 and beyond.”

As part of its eco efforts, the Perfume Shop launched its most extensive perfume bottle recycling service in 2023 as part of its focus on tackling perfume bottle wastage. It said over 8,611 bottles had been recycled in 2023, compared to 5,152 in 2022.
The Perfume Shop also pointed to data revealing that refillable fragrances are growing 23% (compared to 9% for non-refillable fragrances) as environmentally-conscious consumers choose more sustainable options.
Last year, the retailer introduced over 27 of its new, modernised, app-based, experiential stores. which are also 100% zero carbon with electricity generated via wind, solar and hydro.
It is also planning to reduce its packaging by as much as 40% by automating its packaging machines as part of a £2.5m investment.
